About the event

Event Description:

DenCoKID is excited to offer a free simulation to the Denver community. Participants will experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with attention and language-based learning differences like dyslexia. Participants are guided through six learning tasks commonly encountered in the classroom and workplace. These activities are followed by a group discussion, focussed on experiences shared and lessons learned.

This eye-opening experience benefits everyone, including parents, grandparents, guardians, caregivers, educators, principals, coaches, employers, clergy, and anyone with an interest in dyslexia or learning.

Event Details:

  • Light refreshments will be provided.
  • Childcare for school-aged children is available upon request. Email childcare requests to at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Participating Colorado educators may receive a certificate worth 2 hours of continuing education credit for recertification.
  • Following the simulation, from 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm, we will offer optional training for volunteers interested in helping to facilitate future simulations.
