Event Description:
DenCoKID is excited to offer a free simulation to the Denver community. Participants will experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with attention and language-based learning differences like dyslexia. Participants are guided through six learning tasks commonly encountered in the classroom and workplace. These activities are followed by a group discussion, focussed on experiences shared and lessons learned.
This eye-opening experience benefits everyone, including parents, grandparents, guardians, caregivers, educators, principals, coaches, employers, clergy, and anyone with an interest in dyslexia or learning.
Event Details:
- Light refreshments will be provided.
- Childcare for school-aged children is available upon request. Email childcare requests to denverkidgroup@gmail.com at least 48 hours in advance.
- Participating Colorado educators may receive a certificate worth 2 hours of continuing education credit for recertification.
- Following the simulation, from 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm, we will offer optional training for volunteers interested in helping to facilitate future simulations.

Attendee Parking Instructions and arrival at:
The Education Center at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation 3239 E. 2nd Avenue | Denver, CO 80206
- Global has a parking garage under the building, which is accessed from the west side of the building via the alley.
- When driving on E. 2nd Avenue, turn north into the alley and then turn right into the parking garage (it slopes downward).
- Press the top call button to connect with the receptionist. The receptionist will open the garage door.
- Please park anywhere on P1 or P2 that isn’t reserved.
- There is a set of 2 elevators that will take you to the lobby (L). Please inform the receptionist of who you are meeting with and someone will come down to greet you.
- When exiting the garage, the door will detect your vehicle and open automatically.
