Acerca del evento
DenCoKID is proud to round out October by hosting the second-annual lighting of the Denver City and County Building in recognition of Dyslexia Awareness Month. Join us in front of the main steps for a youth activity, giveaways, and a short series of speakers.
Why red lights, you may ask? We’re all familiar with the color red. It’s often associated with mistakes, corrections, crossing out, and disapproval. Since 2019, the Go Red For Dyslexia global campaign has strived to change the narrative and take back the feelings of shame and low self-esteem so many learners with dyslexia experience. This year, DenCoKID is helping to spread awareness for dyslexia by encouraging people to turn anything and everything red for the month of October!
Tell your friends and family to by the Denver City and County Building in the evening between 10/27/23-10/31/23 to take a photo and share it on social media using the hashtags #dyslexiaawareness #dencokid #saydyslexia.
Don't forget to wear something red for the lighting!
